It can be daunting to visit somewhere new on your own but solo
visitors to Age Concern’s weekly
Café are assured of
a warm welcome
and friendly conversation thanks to our ‘Tea & Company’ project.
Tea & Company volunteers are at the
Café every Wednesday to
welcome new customers and help them to feel at home.
Just ask at the
Café counter for the Tea & Company volunteer.
If a customer would like company, the volunteer is able to spend
some time with them one to one,
perhaps having a chat over a cup of
tea.
There is also a reserved table for Café customers who have met
and formed friendships through ‘Tea & Company’.
This group is
friendly and welcoming and new customers soon get to know people.
