Activity Centres
These clubs met weekly providing vital companionship, social activity and support for elderly people. Volunteers organise games, quizzes, bingo, trips, raffles, etc. It also involves serving refreshments. The 3 all day centres also serve (but not prepare) lunch. The club is lead by a volunteer leader with 2-4 helpers, depending upon the size.
There are five half day centres and 3 all day centres.
Person specification:
A team player with a good sense of humour and a willingness to help
others.
Level of Commitment:
You should be available on a regular, weekly basis. Our centres are open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday.
Some centres are open all day (10 am – 3 pm) whilst others are half day centres (either morning or afternoon).
In addition, you are required to attend training courses as and when required and also regular meetings.
