Insurance Products and Services
Age Concern offers a wide variety of products & services, many of which are regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Your role would be to arrange insurance for customers. You can become a Level 2 or Level 3 arranger. The scope for Level 2 is limited to the arrangement of one or two General Insurance Products only. The scope of Level 3 encompasses all General Insurance products.
Responsibilities
A member of staff or a volunteer performing this role:
- Shall be competent to perform their role
- Shall remain competent to perform their role
- Shall undergo a regular review of their competence
- Shall accept appropriate supervision based on their skill and knowledge levels
Key Tasks
To work competently and compliantly within the Limits of Authority
and:
- Introduce Age Concern Products and Services to customers
- Accurately complete all administration and documentation in accordance with the ACEnt procedures and service standards
- Provide product information to customers to enable them to make an informed choice
- Close the sale
- Abide by the Codes of Conduct, Rules and Guidelines as issued by ACEnt
- Undertake personal development as agreed between the role holder and their supervisor.
Person specification:
This is aimed at someone who has worked either in the Insurance,
Banking or Financial sector or another regulated environment. You
have to have good communications skills and be confident to talk to
the public in a sales and service providers role.
Level of Commitment:
You should be able to commit at least one half day per week, but
preferably two half days, either mornings or afternoons. In
addition, you are required to attend regular training courses to
remain competent, plus under go regular reviews with your
supervisor.
